Johanna started Johanna Andersen Creative, because she loves to give flowers a second life. She does floral preservation through pressing and focuses mainly on wedding bouquet preservation. She takes the bouquet (or photo of the bouquet for post-wedding preservation), presses it, and then frames it. Johanna also offers pressed flower goods, such as edible flowers for a wedding cake, etc.
We’re engaged! Now what?
I would encourage all newly engaged couples to first have a conversation about their expectations and budget for their special day. That way you can use that as a sounding board for all the decisions moving forward.
What is the ideal timeline for a bride to book your services?
It is best to book your preservation space at least 3 months before your wedding date. The only vendor I suggest making sure you have booked before you book your preservation, is your florist. It is helpful to have the inspiration for your bouquet, so I can best prepare to preserve it.
What is your price range?
Bouquet preservation start at $300. I offer different packages, with both gold frames and handmade wooden frames.
What is your favorite wedding tradition?
I love the ceremony. I don't know if that counts as a tradition, but getting to experience the love of a couple is so special.
What is one tradition you could live without?
The cake stuffing in the face moment just isn't for me.
Anything else you would like to share with our brides?
There are a variety of preservation methods, including resin and dried floral art. I'd encourage you to research which method is for you! I solely preserve via pressing, but there are plenty of other creatives who can assist in those areas. I want to ensure every bride gets her dream of a preservation, that brings their style and essence into it!
